10 Minute Post

Before I rush off to work.

Heh, was busy entertaining friends last night. Have a friend over from Adelaide who’s in Melbourne for a couple of days before hopping off to Sydney. Bought a couple bottles of beer to share round with him and another friend. It’s been a while since I’ve done that, and this scene was common during the begining of the year when Jack was still around. Had some Mountain Goat for my friend from South Australia and some Cascade Summer Blonde (this is a limited edition, seasonal beer, where they use different ingredients. Although the sales assistant I talked to reckoned they’re brewed the same as their regular Premium Lagers and charging a premium for it. lol:)

Woke up with the weird dream of unholy, rotting fish and my cousins planning on taking a rocket trip to the moon. Yeah, that’s how weird my dreams can get on occasion, especially when my mind’s bugging me to wake up and not be late for work.

Hmmm… this is probably the last post for the year of 2004. It was an eventful year, if you look back at the news, so many things happened. The only thing I can think of now is how 50 years from now, school kids will be lamenting at the amount of history they need to learn in their textbooks due to the power of technology recording everything these days, and normal people like us have the ability to blog and add to the clutter of information out there (like this post now… heh).

My 10 minutes is so up. See you round next year. ;)

Monologue

the uttered words
like a scripted play
of you and I.

my lines,
the sole voice
to carry emotions forth.

your wan smile,
are they the blackened words
your role speaks?

I’d like to know.

Heh, things happen.

I procrastinated to go out to buy lunch. Decided I wanted to have a warm meal, so it was chicken curry rice at the local joint just down the street. However that was closed due to taking a long vacation for Christmas and the New Year. So instead, I decided to go to Subway to grab a sandwich home to eat with coffee.

Then it decides to rain.

Change of itinery, I just sit down by the window enjoying the rain and my meal simultaneously. Then I see a familiar car with a familiar number plate drive pass and park just outside the store. Heh, Vuitton and Angie pop out. Apparently Vuitton’s cousin had a fetish for Subway sandwiches as well. What are the odds that so many things will happen to bring us together on a day like this?

You wonder at times if the world is deterministic (a term I learnt from studying philosophy at uni) and that everything is predetermined and nothing you do can change the way things are. Yes, one wonders…
