Putting Up with the Local Weather

Update: As is usually the case, the heat is the sign that rain is about to come. Drizzling at the moment and so much cooler. ;)

Melbourne weather. You just love to hate it.

It was like 13 degrees 3 days ago, and currently at 2am, I’m pretty sure it’s still about 28 degrees outside. This temperature usually isn’t much, it’s just that the there wasn’t much of a transition period to get used to it. Even in KL when it’s like 32 degrees on a daily basis, our homes are equipped with huge ceiling fans (or the more fortunate ones have air conditioning) to keep us cool. All I have with me is a crummy heater that I’m using as a fan at the moment. The surface area covered are probably only my ankles and toes.

Leaving my room door open helps a lot in cooling my room down as there’s an empty void that’s my living room that provides all the cooler air. However, I can’t sleep with my room door open. I get weird dreams and they’re usually horrific in the sense that I end up trying to pry my eyes open to force myself awake. It’s a little suffocating at times and you get a claustrophobic feel, so it’s rather disturbing. Why it happens I have no idea.

Life’s been a little directionless of late. No alarm clocks to wake up to, no deadlines to meet. Doing a little web design job at the moment, and I’m following my client’s schedule more than my own.

Heh, numb from the weather, numb from daily routines. So numb I’m sounding incoherent.
