Zoned Out

Today is one of those days.

Never really woke up from my sleep this morning. I’m probably being bombarded by subliminal messages, but only because I’m so engrossed in gaming that all the daily routines I do are put on a waiting list, and I think the neuron pulses are getting impatient waiting for me to tell them what to do.

Went to work today and performed my duties as usual. However, being zoned out, you tend to react slowly to things and are more careless with how you get things done. Gave a customer a salmon handroll instead of a tuna one, packed 9 oysters into the tray when half a dozen equates only to 6. At least I realised my mistakes, and didn’t cause too many problems, but the clumsiness in handling stuff was a little jarring to the ears. Heh, was doing the usual end of the day cleaning up and you can hear the clanking of metal against metal as I wasn’t holding the trays properly. I guess the worse part of being blur was letting the crayfish jab me in the finger (they have hard shells and lots of thorns protruding off the front, but then again, all fish have some spikey part to ward of predators, and you get jabbed occasionally). I punctured my thumb and nearly severed two other fingers. Heh, was removing the metal trays as previously mentioned. Only thing is that they are filled with ice before you wash them off, and you know solid water weighs a ton. Was trying to lift one of the trays off the display stand when my other hand slipped and the big, heavy tray came jamming down on two of my fingers. Fortunately I was handling plenty of ice before this, so while it hurt quite a bit, my fingers were already semi numb by then. It hurt bad, and was stunned momentarily, but there is only a slight bruise left.

Heh, after more than 13 hours awake, I’m still semi dazed from the day’s activities. It’s like looking at things through frosted glass, you see things behind it, but never quite make out what it is.
