Of Late

Heh, cut down on gaming of late (well, at least for the last 18 hours). I’ve still got a quota to attain, as I promised my friend I’m supposed to level up another 6 levels by Saturday (at the rate of one level a day, I don’t know if it’s even possible now).

Been busy with redesigning this site (well, at least for the last 18 hours). Heh, good things to come, really. This is the fourth design I’ve sat through that has actually been translated into a breathing site, instead of just remaining as a proof of concept in Photoshop. I still need to iron out some visual effects and structural logic. Will write about the process in a separate post when I’m done, which is, hopefully, very, very soon.

Oh how time flies, it’s already the middle of the month, and I’m still far from completing half the things I’m supposed to do.

Moozik…

At home you listen to whatever you fancy, even to the point of droning yourself with the same song over and over because you can and want to.

I just want to mention a little about the music I listen to at work. At the photocopy shop, there was the radio, so every now and then, Australian favourites pop up. This is pretty good, as DJs don’t usually suck too bad at song selection, so I’ve been able to listen to recent stuff while also having flash backs to the 80′s (age of synthesised music).

At the fish shop, the departmental store I work at have this really horrible song selection which recycles itself every hour or so, and my boss has been complaining about the music a lot. Heh, and the only way they (the departmental store) would change it is if a customer complains. He did ask one of his employees to actually ring up (as a customer) to complain, but I don’t know whether he was just joking or being serious about it. The music is horrendous, even if it’s played at low volume, it still manages to irk you at times.

Yesterday was a welcome change, with Christmas carols playing in the background (you can never tire of Christmas carols, there is always a different rendition to favourite tunes). I thought it was gonna last, unfortunately, today they were playing the same music AGAIN. With business on the sleepy side, the music is really noticeable while you’re daydreaming, and it’s like playing a broken record while you’re trying to think of something nice.

Heh, Christmas aside, Malaysians are celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri at the moment, with Deepavali only a few days back. Many happy wishes to all those who celebrate these holidays where families and friends have a chance to meet up and enjoy each other’s company for the short duration.

When You’re Not Looking

Wires are a pain in the ass. Am still waiting for the day when everything can be done through radio waves (or infrared, or whatever ingenious method future scientists come up with) without fear of signal interference or degradation.

Why you may ask?

Was looking at the computer monitor while fumbling for my earphones. Looked away long enough to locate the earphone jack, and I plugged it in, but there was no sound. Or so I thought I plugged it in. I traced the wire from my earphones to the pin (if that’s what you call the thingy that you plug in) and found that it wasn’t connected. I frowned, and wondered what the heck I had just inserted into the earphone jack on my computer and OH MY GOD, I somehow managed to pick out the wire that charges my Nokia handphone and plugged that in instead. It surprisingly fit before this, and needed more than a nudge to unplug it.

With the assortment of gadgets I have lying around, this was waiting to happen. Heh, I’m amazed and thankful I didn’t fry any expensive electronics and trip the main power switch. *phew*
