At work, you find things to do, instead of waiting for your boss to delegate stuff to you. Having worked there for a month, you automatically go grab ice, clean the display windows if they’re dirty etc.

It was pass 11am, and there were few customers. My boss had wandered off somewhere and my 3 other colleagues were inside preparing sushi rolls. I think at one point in time, there were these customers looking at the displays and I was just outside looking at the glass display. I saw a smudge on one of them, and promptly went to get a cloth to wipe it. One of the customers must have been a pretty girl, because you don’t just ignore seeing a pretty face, and managed to glimpse a bit of her out of the corner of my eye. However, me being me, didn’t really give a second look.

The silly bit of this part was the coincidence. The pretty girl must have been standing right beside the smudge on the display window and as I went to wipe the display my colleagues inside (our store has an inside and outside, separated only by a half wall and glass panel) started laughing out loud. I gave them a semi puzzled look. I was intent on cleaning the window, and I really had no idea she was standing there beside me. Not wanting to seem too obvious, I did not turn my head to check out my suspicion. As blur as I was in not really noticing the pretty chick, what was actually going on (why they were laughing) started forming quickly in my mind and I’m like ‘Erm… erm…’

I know I was REALLY cleaning windows, and they thought I had purposefully picked up that spot to wipe the window just to stand beside the pretty chick. And the thing that pissed me off (in a jovial kind of way) was that I never really got to look closely in detail at the pretty chick, so I didn’t get to see how pretty she really was! lol: Colleagues never really mentioned what was so funny when I asked them, but you have to be a 5 kilo brick to not get the hint.
