Shopping King I’m Not

Heh, I’m such a lousy shopper.

I can procure you with computer parts at the cheapest prices as I know where in town to get them. I can quote you a system based on your needs and get you arguably the most worthwhile system for your buck. I can give even tell you which manufacturers are reputable, which country they’re from etc. Technical specs, I’ve probably memorised most of it, even down to the manufacturing process used in the development of computer parts. Want a digital camera? Get confused with megapixel jargon? No worries, tell me what you want out of your camera and I can recommend you something for your budget, camera size etc.

Yeah, I’m all that.

So explain to me why I can’t even decide what shampoo to buy?

Walked into Priceline today to get a bottle of shampoo and I’m like wide eyed. There were 3 shelves of shampoos from different brands with different purposes. You have shampoo for dyed hair, treated hair, dandruff, moisturising, conditioning yadda yadda yadda. lol: Nearly didn’t want to get my shampoo because I was so overwhelmed with choices.

In the end I just picked one in which the brand I was vaguely familiar with. Heck, it’s just shampoo, what do you need to know about it?

Hiccup

My webhost suffered a mild heart attack a few days ago. Apparently they had upgraded some software and after a couple of emails, managed to restore everything to its original state. At least everything’s running fine now, was a little worried as I had only backed up my stuff up until the time I changed the design of this site, which would be about a month’s worth of lost posts if something really went wrong.

Christmas is coming, and will be working obscene hours again. Christmas eve should be the most hectic, with people coming in to do last minute shopping and picking up their seafood/sushi platters for dinner. Wonder what kind of experience it would be.

It’s been an odd 6 months since my graduation, and now that I’m actually reflecting on it, I’ve learnt a great deal about adult life. Out here a different set of rules apply, and it’s not as comfy as student life. Heh, as students most of my friends lamented about assignments and exams. While that is a big portion of your life at that time, failure or success in exams doesn’t really prove a point. Sure it’s great to score high marks and all, but if all you ever do is study to achieve those grades, you’re missing out on a lot of things.

Heh, random blog post, I’m like an out of focused picture at the moment, not really sure what the subject matter is. Wondering what the next 6 months will be like.

Celebrity for a Day

My friend Vuitton’s graduating today.

Me and him met a year prior to uni in college, where we had the exact same timetable, so that’s how we got to be close friends over that year. We both started the same course together, but I accelerated it and finished it a semester earlier. So today is finally his big day.

Got some time off work just so I could go take pictures with him. Heh, today is a pretty good day for a graduation ceremony. No rain and it’s fairly cool. Usually this time around, it’s burning hot in Melbourne plus you have flies swarming over you. People get fatigued because of all this and don’t look as glamourous as they should be on their special day.

My friend was a celebrity for today, with flowers from his family and picture taking sessions with all his friends and family. lol: He was busy with all of that social entertaining when he was supposed to be prepping himself to go into the graduation hall.

Heh, I recalled after my graduation I kept commenting that it’s only two pieces of paper you get for all that hard work. However, it’s still a milestone in most people’s lives, to graduate from a tertiary level institution of education. Congrats mate.

Okie, need to run off back to work.
