Nostalgia – Part 2

Sidenote: When you learn to take pictures, you really notice the brilliance in colours in everyday objects you see. Heh, while the D70 is good, I still wish my camera was as ‘effective’ as my eyes in noticing the spectrum of colours available as a palette to paint the world. Unfortunately digital photography is still hit by the limitations of having only a 24bit colour range (16.7 million colours if not mistaken), no where near the “millions and millions” of colours the human eye can see.

Starting to move away from the automated functions of my D70 and play around more with the manual settings. Have also picked up some pointers on hyperfocal lengths for getting the best sharpness out of a given focal length and aperture setting.

Really love my camera.

Was at Melbourne Uni again. This time I went to take pictures of my friend who is graduating today. The things that caught my attention today were the students who were still carrying thick, heavy books around. It may be a Saturday, but it’s the time of the semester when mid semester exams and assignments are a plenty. I used to recall myself making use of the library facilities to study as I needed to get away from the distraction that was my computer and warm, comfy bed (this is especially so in winter). Anyway, navigated myself around Uni after my friend entered Wilson Hall, and was so preoccupied with camera settings and taking pictures I suddenly ended up home.

Heh. Reminiscing those carefree student days.
