Playlist

Today after work, there was that schoolboy feel as I got off work. Heh, was going home to homework, which is an assignment due the next week, an assignment that spurs me to other creative activities, an assignment I’ve been procrastinating. Work related assignment, nothing fascinating.

Anyway, listening to my iPod you get the nostalgic feel of the anticipation that comes with going home. I think I enjoy my 30 minutes home from work. That’s when you get some free time to ponder about stuff, as oppose to the morning walks to work where you’re just trying to rush and arrive at work to get things done.

I’d just like to share my playlist a little. I think the trip started off good with Green Day – Minority being the first song being played. Green Day is a good band, and they have some really good songs. There’s something about their music that generates good vibes about everything around you. A few Jay Chou tracks down, there is the violinist group called Bond, playing Lullaby. Lullaby is a pop rendition of Pachebel’s Canon in D Major. Canon is also another one of those feel good tunes that makes people happy. It’s a very catchy tune, and I don’t know if it’s written in one of those mathematically perfect chords and rhythm, but it really stands out as a tune that most people will like when they first hear it. Skip a couple more Jay Chou tunes, the last tune before I arrive home (to write this very post) is Kenny G’s Breathless. The saxophone is a very soulful piece of an instrument (not sure which type of sax he plays though). With good acoustics, the saxophone is a really distinct instrument that can hold it’s own (Lisa Simpson’s simple jazzy tunes come to mind) and tell it’s own story.

Off to do some ‘real’ work.

To Remember

Heh, I realise that when I procrastinate on one thing, I actually become more productive on most things that I’ve backlogged to do. This is the first evening in a very long time I’ve done so many other little tasks, at the expense of an assignment of course (a long story).

A few days ago I had an overdose of caffeine. The effects were apparent when I slept at 300am on Sunday morning and woke up to the tune of my alarm clock at 730am and did not feel tired at all. The night before was spent playing games and analysing Jerome’s coffee machine. With the right knowledge, skill and type of grinded coffee beans, his machine can produce pretty good coffee shots with a nice thick layer of crema. Having had 3 coffees earlier in the day and testing his coffee, it takes very little to deduce I had too much caffeine in my system.

Sunday was a coffee free day. Had a good sleep that night. :)

* * *

Was just thinking about some of the things I do. I enjoy my coffee, my cooking, the type of music I listen to, watching anime, playing computer games, etc. etc. etc. The thing is, I was introduced to all these activities by family members. My family has left a lasting impression on me by sharing their interests with me and those things that I like I’ve made a part of me. You think about people passing on genes so that you have a resemblance and a common link to someone who’s related. At times, you pass on more than just genetic makeup. You also pass on your little habits, your values, your lifestyles, some likes and dislikes. You become very much a part of the person who was from a prior generation and it may be no surprise that they resembled their parents and grandparents before them.

As long as you feel that you are sharing your thoughts and passions with the world, indirectly, a part of you will always exist in the world and not be forgotten.

Just Another 6am Post

Heh. Today it was 5.56am. Today’s dream was a continuation of yesterday’s soap opera.

No idea why I would get up so early on a Saturday morning, not like I have any reason to. Noticed that office work has given me a chance to put on an extra kg or so. This has never been possible before because firstly, I was awake less hours, hence I tended to skip breakfast. Next, even when I was awake, I’d usually cram both breakfast and lunch into one meal. Thirdly, I’m sitting in the office most of the time now, while munching on things throughout the day in front of the computer screen.

Back to why I’m up so early. Been semi inspired by my friend a bit (a self confessed fitness freak, in his own words), so I decided I’d go jogging this morning. Dragged my skinny ass out into the open streets. It was surprisingly quite cold this morning, even with the spring sun glaring in my face. Picked up a little speed after a while, and it’s during this time in the morning, you notice Melbourne in its tranquility plus all the detail (even at night, you’d still have cars roaming around and only the street lamps illuminte the surroundings).

While running, I couldn’t help but notice things that would make good photo shots (the lighting was just right at this time of the morning). Heh, didn’t bring my camera out, anyway, that would detract from the whole point.

Heh, the jogging’s got me all jelly like. Fingers are sluggishly chugging along now.
