Designer King

Just a little tribute to Jonathan Ive, the guy who introduced the world to the rainbow assortment of iMacs back in 1998. He was recently honoured with Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by the Queen of England (just slightly short on being Knighted, heh). It’s a symbolic name, but an honour non the less.

He is what most designers aspire to be as the line of Apple products he has produced over the years have all been visually stunning. PCs have been designed to be beige and uninspiring, but he motivated other manufacturers to improve the aesthetics of design when the iMac was introduced. He also designed the iPod, the G4 cube (while it was a doomed product, it was absolutely cool) and the Mac Mini to name a few.

Heh, it’s amazing that one person can design so many products that have left such an impression on the whole world. Truly amazing.
