Semi Inspired

Heh, room is in a semi state of chaos. Always seems like it. It’s a little less crowded now I guess. It’s not mentally challenging, more to laziness that I don’t sit down and think my way through before attempting something. Just like how I never seem to plan and flesh out these blog posts, so they seem a little disjointed without continuity at times. It also affects how I take pictures, when I just frame an interesting subject but I’m so focused on getting the object in the picture that I don’t think carefully of how I should present it. Things just come out dull when you look at it from a distance later on.

I’ve always been wrestling with the idea of ‘doing’ and ‘thinking’. You can plan all you want and the slightest things can throw all of it out the window. Heh, with that in mind, I have often found it useful to just brainlessly start doing something that I know needs to be done. I’ll work on the thinking a little later. The only problem with this approach is that results come out half hearted as well. Now I’m contemplating whether it is better off having half a mediocre result than a grand gesture that’s up in the air.

Heh, it’s also partially like this website. Everytime a design gets done is when I just start hacking away at it. The scope for it is so huge that unless you plan it out properly, you get lost in a sea of things to do.

Looking at my work practices at the moment and I seem more efficient there than I am at home (maybe it’s the environment or the people). Maybe it’s because I’ve been drilled in those tasks and they have to be delivered on time. Sure I could apply these things to the daily routines, but I am supposed to be working at work. At home, the allocation of time is a little more difficult. I like gaming and chatting online to catch up, but at times that feels more like a ‘thinking’ stage than a ‘doing’ stage.

Just want that extra little sense of achievement.
