Starting March

Heh, thus is life these days, so hectic that I remembered I’d need to write a post for the start of March but never got the time to sit down to write it.

I’m a little amazed at how quick time passes by. The start of 2007 is still quite fresh in my mind and already March has arrived. The weather is still relatively warm as I had expected temperatures to dip a little.

Just looking back on last year’s post, and I do remember the bits about doing two finance subjects while working. It nearly burnt me out. This time round I’ve skipped the studying as I was preparing to go to New York and I didn’t want to be overwhelmed with too many things going on at once. Life is quite routine now, work during the days, the evenings are just gaming, socialising and reading stuff. Weekends just blaze through and I haven’t had time to sit down to work on some of my personal projects. Having a car helps with travelling around a bit and you do feel more enthusiastic about exploring as you are doing so at your own time and pace without needing to rely on public transport.

Booked tickets to New Zealand and I finally get to fulfill my promise to see my cousins there. Will be going with Vyanne during the Easter break, visiting a friend in Auckland and stopping by Christchurch for a few days as well. Haven’t planned my itinerary yet and will need to do a little research before I go over. It should be an interesting experience as the last time I visited New Zealand was when I was 12. I do recall being mesmerised by the sights and sounds back then and would like to be able to capture them on camera this time round. Heh, even semi decided which lenses I’d bring, my ultra wide 12-24, my kit lens 18-70 and the brick of a zoom 70-200. Well, maybe I’d bring these but since I’m travelling prefer to go it light. Will see how it goes as time draws nearer.

Looking at last year’s post, I was enthusiastic about running Windows Vista back then. Yesterday I sparked that interest again when I read a post on someone’s impressions of the operating system. I guess Microsoft played down the more important bits of the operating system (OS) as they tried to cater to the average person in terms of what Vista offers. Heh, if I was building a new PC, I’d have spent a bit on purchasing an OEM version of Vista which costs maybe 40% of the full retail price of the software.

What to do in March? Just need to tighten my schedules a little and squeeze a little more utility from my time. I think I’ll put it down in pen and paper (or in this case, digital bits) so that I should at least live up to doing what I say I’m planning to do.

This site is due for an overhaul. I was partially through a design concept but it got a little bland towards the latter bits so I shelved my work for a bit hoping for some inspiration. Then things got busy and I forgot about it. Need to start on it again soon.

Been printing photos on my colour printer and am trying to compile a little portfolio of work. It started out with a theme but then I soon ran out of photos that fit that description so I’m just printing out everything I feel that is noteworthy and fitting them into a book. I’d like to show it off to people to get some feedback, especially to see the photos that are universally accepted by people as being “nice”. Heh.

Still languishing in World of Warcraft. I play when I have time but would really like to get my character to at least see the new bits of the expansion. At the moment, only 3 levels odd from making that happen. It will take a bit of gaming time, but I hope to be able to catch up a bit during the weekends.

Okay, better not pile myself up with more things I can chew, and see how things pan out over the next few days.
