It feels like a long week at work. It hasn’t been as hectic as it could have been, and as usual, my mind is wandering elsewhere. Things are getting done, which is good, and my colleague was out with the flu, keeping me plenty busy.

The above is my first attempt at making food look proper. It was a capsicum and onion omelette. While I was back in Melbourne, I noticed the difference in heating temperatures and pan stickiness. It affected how a dish who turn out. It’s like camera equipment, you will end up with your picture, but you’d need to know its characteristics to compensate so that your picture will come out the same regardless of what equipment you are using.
Heh, i have been testing various omelettes, and the above was probably the most perfect looking one to date. It was in the shape of a half crescent, and nicely browned on both sides, without all the contents leaking out. Well, maybe it’s more of a gigantic fried egg.
Then there is also the problem of trying to take flattering photos of your breakfast, lunch or dinner. When one is hungry, one doesn’t spend too much time worrying about the finer details while their food gets cold.

I’m thinking of those nice leather armchairs with a foot stool. I want one of those, and maybe it will be a little cramped to have one in my room in Melbourne at the moment. Heh, it would help with at least getting me to sit properly to read a book (or any form of reading).
There is also a whole bunch of lighting equipment that one can make with straws and cardboard and tape etc. It helps with bending the light to give you the scene you want. Been reading lots and it’s definitely an interesting idea to pursue.
The other idea I just picked up last night was selling my photos through online stock agencies. You get about 25c per download, and only get paid out once you accummulate about $70 worth of downloads. Heh, it probably won’t be easy or amount to much for me, but with spare time and a little effort, who knows, it might bring in some extra profit to splurge on other gadgets and equipment.

And it’s back to sipping coffee, eating white chocolate macadamia cookies and reading my book, Light: Science and Magic, which came highly recommended as text for improving one’s photos. That is, until I fall asleep with the book on my face again, sitting so comfortably in bed and all.
