Heh, the food I cook usually looks better than this, although it’s hard to make leftover food look decent, especially when you just want to get on with eating.
Made some chicken soup the previous evening and it still looked presentable then. Wanted to make a sunny side egg up but was in a hurry, so splatted the egg all over the pan. In order to save it, I decided to scramble it instead. The black log on the left is actually a Taiwanese sausage. While trying to make the other food bits look good on my plate, I left it a little too long on one side of the pan, hence the charred looking thing.
So this is my sad attempt at a Chinese New Year’s eve dinner. None of the chit chat of relatives and family, or the gorgeous prawns and fish and zillion other kinds of food on the table. I used to just take these reunion dinners for granted, and even when I wasn’t in KL I had friends and relatives I could eat with in Melbourne.
Heh, already have plans to get all my cousins to be back for CNY next year. I miss the rowdiness of it all. Hoping to be able to experience that all again next year.
