Yeap, this blog has been going on for four years now. No, the above picture is not a birthday cake, but just something I cooked up over the weekend. Some soy milk pancakes with strawberries, only because I ran out of regular milk. The pancakes were drizzled with honey and a strawberry compote on the side (not pictured). I’ve tried buttermilk pancakes, but always chew them down too quickly to note the difference. Heh, when I get the chance again, I will make proper buttermilk pancakes with a blueberry compote. I’ve tried pancakes with whipped eggwhites before (although with only your hands and a beater/mixer, it takes a really long time to fluff up the eggwhites), and I’ve managed to get it too runny a few times. Heh, I keep making pancakes because firstly, it’s a tastier way to feed oneself and secondly, it’s just trying the same ideas over and over again to get a feel for it and finally get it right.

Back to this blog, I remember putting in a lot more effort into it the first couple of years I was still happily playing around with web design. After I started work it stagnated a bit and these days, I think I could probably put together the same website in under a week, if I knew exactly what I wanted. The problem is that these days I’m not quite sure what I want. In it’s current form, this website has been stripped to a bare minimum of just posts and an archive of it. It hasn’t become more because there really isn’t any reason for it to be more. Blogging became a byproduct of me wanting to design websites, and you can tell by the short blurps I wrote at the very beginning. After a while, the whole web designing stint took a backseat after I started working.
This blog isn’t terribly entertaining, as I’d make a very BAD writer. I have no consistency, no specific prose, no structure, nothing. I used to reread posts to check for spelling and grammatical errors. These days, I’m like a fish, only knowing how to go forward and not backwards. I let it all come out, and it takes form. If I like what I wrote, I publish it. If not, it just disappears into the abyss of cyberspace. The less I plan and structure a post on something, the more likely it will be that it gets posted.
Still, this blog is good for me to revisit the past, whenever I need to look up my memories. What I used to do, the pictures I took, what fads were in for me way back to 2004. Heh, so I do have a time machine of sorts, if not in the very literal sense. I just hope to never tire of doing this website as an aside to my daily routine, so that it will continue to evolve and hopefully, entertain someone else besides me.

Well, it’s been a quiet weekend, with the weather being annoying and all. It’s still cold, and gets a little unbearable when the wind blows, so best to just stay in, hug a cup of coffee and read books. Or in the instance of the above, try every conceivable angle on your pancakes until they turn cold and you decide to chow down on your breakfast. Heh.
