Not a very fancy picture, but I like the bokeh of the 85mm f/1.8 more than I do the 50mm f/1.2. Slapped the lens on when I went to the Good Food and Wine Show and took this picture of jam spreads with multi coloured labels.
Find that I use my second hand prime lenses more than I do my more expensive and new zoom lenses. It forces you to think, and I’m fairly comfortable with any angle that you can slap a lens on, know its limitations, and work out how to use the angle of view to your advantage.
The 85mm either gives you nice, focused crops, or a good length to capture something a few metres away.
Heh, I still want to use this lens for a proper portrait session with people. With proper lighting, the results are just a joy to look at.

Been hitting the jogging track more often these days. It’s usually a 6 to 7km run/walk. I try to run as much as possible of the way, but lose momentum due to the traffic light stops at times. Heh, it’s been kind of cold and wet, so the body heat I generate is just enough to keep me warm outside, and I don’t even break a sweat.
Really keen to do more laps round the park, and it’s amazing I have the motivation these days, with the chilly weather and all. I’ve been trying to push myself to do more things, and getting into the habit of being able to push myself. Once I wean myself off doing the simple things I’m used to doing, I’d be more adaptable to picking up more difficult tasks as I go along.

Thinking a lot about warm stews, broths and chowders these days. It’s not too hard to make a soup base, it just takes time. I like the idea of slow cooking stuff just to get the flavours out. You don’t need too much technique with soups other than just mixing everything into a pot and cooking it.
Looking forward to the weekend then, so I can taste the piping hot soup with a loaf of crusty bread. Mmmmm…
