Just looking back at last year’s post for inspiration. Heh, realise I was still looking for work back then. In a couple of months it would have been a year since I started my current job. The job is a little more relaxed than I like since I’ve settled into it a few months back but there’s still plenty to learn as an accountant.

Nikon announced successors to the D300 and the 70-200mm. Little improvevments to already excellent products. It’s almost 2 years since I got my D300 and I’m still quite happy with it from a handling and image quality perspective. No plans for any upgrades this year or next and any upgrade would involve a full frame camera, which is around the $3,000 to $4,000 range. I’d also need to plonk down for a 24-70 f/2.8 if I got that, which is another $2,000 at least. It’s quite a big investment, so unless I strike the lottery or get a higher paying job, it’s just a dream at the moment.

At Mornington Peninsula now staying at this sort of mansion my friends rented for the weekend. It was as a surprise for a friend’s birthday and surprisingly, we ended up with 11 people spontaneously taking time to get out of the city over the weekend. Sitting snugly on a couch now by a fireplace typing out this post now. I’m a total geek, bringing my camera equipment and my netbook (as I knew they had an Internet connection and wifi) on a holiday.

Heh, looking forward to the trip to Taiwan in a few weeks. Have mostly prepared for the trip and now it’s just a matter of counting down before hopping on the plane and setting everything in motion. It should be an interesting month.
