Was at Hanging Rock with some friends on the second day of the new year. Heh, spotted a fern sprout which caught my eye and I quickly grabbed a photo of it.

Started the new year having brunch with cousins. Heh, we feel a little like antiques, not really wanting to do much to celebrate and usher in the new year. We were all indoors, only noticing that midnight had struck when the fireworks went off.
This afternoon went for yum cha in the city (which wasn’t so great) and spent the afternoon at a cousin’s place playing scrabble and drinking tea.
Been spending time mainly with friends and family. Sometimes being around familiar people just to chill is better than all the rowdy activities that people do during the holidays.

2010. No more house hunting on weekends. I’m glad that’s over. I think the first 6 months will just be preparing for the CPA exam (when I do finally sign up for a subject or two) as well as planning the move to the new place. May is probably a good time for settlement, as it’s a month off from the end of the financial year, so hopefully we might get some good sales on furniture and other home stuff. Heh, been following pricing trends on goods and notice the final month leading up to Christmas gives you the best deals (from tracking the price movements of a 42″ LCD tv of course).
There’s the World Cup to look forward to this year. Heh, I will still have to be awake at odd hours just to catch a match, but as with other things, we will see how it goes. Will do a traveling trip like we did to Taiwan last year if finances and timing allows it. There’s also the annual Kid’s run which I will most likely be participating in. Dusted the jogging shoes and went for a run today. Feeling a little lethargic, but will try to pace myself to do 3 runs a week leading up to March. Hoping to be able to run all the way and not have the start stop running I’m used to. Heh, it’s going to be a mental challenge as much as a physical one. Also need to start migrating this website over to a new host. Will just have to make time to do the many things on my plate.

Not wanting things to be too different this year, but 2009 felt a little lacking in achievements. No resolutions this year, the motto is just to do it. I’d probably be more proactive this year with certain things. Haven’t really had a moment to sit still to think since the Christmas break. Heh, there will be a hectic rush and flurry to get month end done for January, but after that, I might spend some time to reflect at work. And as always, I remind myself each day to be grateful for having loved ones around me.
