This was a quick shot with the lens I had on at the moment. The 50mm forced me into a tight composition, which I think helps the framing here. The guitar was placed on my study chair and I popped the flash, illuminating just enough of it while keeping the background black enough so that it wasn’t a distraction. The picture gives you an idea it’s a guitar without going into too much detail of it all.
I’d improve the picture by adjusting the angle of it as you can see a bit of the blue wall reflecting off the metallic bits.

So I got myself a guitar after my CPA exams. Playing Guitar Hero on the PS3 made me want to pick up guitar again, and listening to different tracks on the game gave me an appreciation for different types of music that you can play on the guitar. I had this shipped over from the US of A and even after paying shipping fees, the guitar is still a cool $200 cheaper than if I were to buy it locally.
The guitar is a Blacktop series Fender Stratocaster, and I picked it over a few gazillion types of guitars because they came recommended, being a good level intermediate guitar without blowing your wallet. These are made in Mexico and not America, hence the cheaper price. The neck is maple, with a rosewood fretboard, and a candy apple body. I’d list the rest of the specifications of the guitar, but I’m not too familiar with the rest of it, but they are mainly for the type of sound it produces.

I used to play guitar as a kid, and I guess in highschool back then, I was distracted by other things, so while I learned a few things, never got really good at it. Heh, maybe part of the reason is the teenage rebellious emotions of the time.
I know that if I’m going to be able to play random tunes on will that I have to work hard at practicing. The Internet of today makes it far easier compared to back then to self teach. Will need to practice various techniques and finger strengthening exercises, it’s not all ‘show me the music’ and as a book I read a while back, you become proficient in something after spending 10,000 hours on it. Heh, if I could teach myself how to shoot a decent picture after 6 years, I’m sure I can play a tune if I put my head to it.
That’s the thing with learning new things, you are always able to apply it to something else, regardless of whether it’s related or not, as you get the sense of what you need to do in order to achieve something.

Prayed for a sign to get me out of my rut, and I’ve been getting them. Heh, maybe the signs are open to interpretation, but you take advantage of what you are given.
I feel motivated again.
