Starting May

still life

One of the images of still life using my shoot through umbrella to get some decent lighting. Definitely something different than just using bounce flash or existing light, and I quite like the quality of light that falls on the subject, so maybe I’ll be trying more shots like this.

So it’s May already. This post is way late, only because I’ve been studying for my exam, doing other things, and my brother was here for a few days to stay. He’s been trying different foods in Melbourne and I know he really enjoyed his stay.

It seems a very long while ago when I just did my first CPA paper, and getting anxious about moving house, and that was only a year ago. Things are more settled now, and it feels like we have been living in this house for a long while now. Life seems to be a lull, and I’m just trying to cope with what goes on at work. The more I spend time using the system, the more gripes I have with it.

I am still missing mom, and feel strange at times with my identity. I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s easy to just get lost in the daily grind and not worry too much about things. It’s a vague feeling, and I wonder what’s really going on inside me.

As usual, just waiting to finish my paper, so I can get along doing other stuff. My garden is pretty set for winter, having added a few pots of soil and planting some rocket leaves and spinach. Heh, looking forward to spring and having an abundance of tomatoes and other stuff. I need to drill into myself that one needs to start and if failing is part of the process to getting better, one should not be afraid to fail to get results.

I need to prep myself for a 21km run. It’s the same one I joined last July, and I haven’t signed up, but I’m keen to try it. Haven’t tested my knee since the Kid’s run, but I’ve been massaging the surrounding muscles and hope there’s an improvement.

So I’m just preoccupied with the exam and work now. Hopefully I’ll have more interesting things to share once I get through the exam hurdle.
