Starting June

purple flowers

Was at the Dandenongs yesterday and managed to absorb some of the autumn colours. These purple flowers were looking pristine, and the backlight was just too enticing not to take a picture of it.

Had some frustrations with the GF1. The screen is a poor representation of the dynamic range captured, so I need to have a little more faith in the camera’s sensor. It still clips highlights more than what I’m used to on a D300, but that was expected when I purchased it. The pancake lens is great, with the 20cm near focus point, but without any markings on the body, even manually adjusting it is futile as I can’t tell if I have maxed out the nearest distance I can point to.

Yesterday was the first day I started unemployment. Lots of people already asking me whether I’ve been looking for new work. It’s not been the top priority on my mind as I have other things that have been nagging me that need to be done first. Now I’m asking questions to people who have their own setups, on business deductions and the like. It will take time, but it’s time to get the ball rolling.

I’ve been telling myself over the last few days that I start a lot of stuff, and it goes on indefinitely. Lots of work in progress, but I haven’t had the satisfaction of completing anything of late and moving on to the next project. So now that I have the time, no more excuses on getting things done.

I like the weather as it is now but not many people are a fan of the cold. Heh, I like the feeling of having frozen numb limbs, but most of all it keeps me fresh and you can choose to hibernate to keep warm or just to buzz around doing stuff to generate heat and keep warm. The house is also in need of it’s semi annual spring clean as I don’t want to have to wade through all the junk I’ve accumulated in one sitting the next time round.

Spending less and less time idling on the computer these days. Time to get cracking!
