No picture for this post. Over at Sydney now for the weekend with nothing more than my iPad tethered over wireless to my iPhone for Internet access. The bigger screen and a dedicated WordPress app makes typing this post doable.
Sort of amazing how much technology has improved since I last came to Sydney. At the time I was still using an old Nokia phone which had limited access to the web and I struggled to even hook my netbook to it to make use of the wireless capabilities.
Today while in Sydney, the iPhone navigated me through the CBD with the built in GPS and Maps app. Looked up bus routes, places of interest and other than me running the battery flat before the end of the day, the iPhone was a reliable companion the whole time.
Heh, this is probably the lightest I have ever travelled, as I also ditched my larger DSLR for my GF1 and two pancake lenses. Was contemplating the tripod as well but every gram mattered, so I left that at home too. The pancake lenses helped by being really light, so I could pretty much put the camera on a flat surface and use the timer to take long exposure shots at night with minimal shake. Not sure how well the photos turned out but will fine out when I get back to Melbourne.

It’s July and haven’t had much luck looking for work, but partially because I haven’t really tried hard enough and I’ve been a little more selective about it. I guess I’d be better off doing some contract work when I get back just for the extra experience in accounting. I also need to spend more time getting my side business up as I have all the information I need to get it started. I should treat this like actual work with a timeline and deliverables, cause the main reasons why people fail is because they don’t take things seriously enough.
I also need to be more focused. Heh, not sure how I managed to get through life being so carefree and directionless. I don’t consider it that great a trait to have anymore as I don’t have specific knowledge and being specific helps you excel at what you set out to do. Heh, just that the more you know, the more you know you don’t know.

Europe is beckoning, only a few more weeks before I get to see France and England. It will be a relatively short trip but I do need to look for work before the Christmas break as most people will be off for holidays late December through to January so I can’t really leave it too late.
Will just be getting everything else that needs to be done during this period.
