Been meaning to write, but it’s been a whirlwind of a tour. There were days when we were out for a stretch of 12 hours, then the slow days I had no access to the internet, and I did try typing on the iPad but it distracts me from writing when I have to constantly correct my spelling.

Heh, will be on a plane to Malaysia in a few hours. Still need to work out logistics for the workshop but other than that, things are mainly settled. A month ago I was wondering whether the 10 odd days in London and Paris would be enough. Now at the final leg of the trip, I think I’ve seen and learned so much new material over the last couple of weeks that I am contented with travelling for the next half a year at least. It hasn’t helped my shrinking wallet either, but I think we did quite a bit of stuff as per the budget we had set out with.

To sum up Paris, it’s just been one long queue after another. It’s summer, so that’s where you get all the crowds, and plenty of people we bumped into were tourists from overseas. Tourist spots I’d though we could get by in a couple of hours needed that plus a couple more. We spent a lot of time queuing and waiting, and even then, we were pretty much ushered from exhibition to exhibition by the crowds before us.
There were lots of impressive sights like the Louvre Museum and the Chateau at Versailles. It shows you the magnitude of extravagance the French royalty had indulged themselves in.

London was a different perspective as we lived with friends for the duration. It was more a gastronomic tour as we went through the southern part of England to go visit food places.

Lots to get done this August. Getting away from regular life recharges your batteries so that you can go about your daily routines again. Just another week in Malaysia and we’ll see how things go from there.
