Travels

View from the Arc de Triumphe. I have so many images to go through, I’m not sure when I’ll get it all edited.

Back in Melbourne now, in front of a proper sized screen, physical keyboard, and a CPU with enough grunt to get by with. Heh, the quintessential ingredients to get me into the mood to post process images and write. My mind was just stuck in a repeated loop, as I had no way to go through what I had just recently experienced.

It just hit me today, on why I like travelling. I was looking at other imagery and videos taken in England and France, and now I can identify all the little details in the background, even if it was only a brief stay in those two countries. (got sidetracked looking at micro 4/3s equipment and came across this video, and while I was watching it, I could imagine myself being there.)

I can also talk about it, and describe what I feel about the countries, in contrast to just life in Melbourne or KL. I want to remember the little details, and because we made our own arrangements to get around and decide what we wanted to see, you remember the locations more easily. Maybe the memories are still fresh, so that’s why the imagery in my mind still feel so vivid. This time around, I spent more time enjoying the experience, as opposed to looking for the best view to grab a photo, or being encumbered by a heavy bag of equipment. Heh, always noting ways to improve the travelling experience, so I can’t wait to go to the next destination with Vyanne.

Taking a while to get accustomed to the low temperatures in Melbourne. Heh, now that I’m back, I need to find a systematic way to get all those things in my list done.
