Routine

Lunch a week ago. Had some parsnips and dutch carrots sitting in the fridge and I’m all about maximising the energy use when I cook something. Also had some frozen pies in the fridge, which don’t taste quite good microwaved (obviously, but 2 min in the microwave is more cost efficient than 30 minutes of the convection oven at 170 degrees C). It’s good to be able to find a variety in food, but that’s spoilt us for choice as you can’t be contented just eating what you grew up with.

Grabbing Alfie for a walk is a great way to break the mundane days for both of us. He’s just lazing there snoring while I’m in a rut with what to do for the rest of the day. We both get to go outside and while the route is the same, at least you get some fresh air and sunshine.

Taken some flu meds over the last 48 hours. Just haven’t been feeling my regular self and the weather’s got cold again, so I’ve been just off. Really can’t wait for the spring to settle in or maybe I just need to change my routines round. The exercise is good as it warms up the body, otherwise I’m sitting there with the heater on and still freezing my butt off.

So there is progress now, I’d wake up and do the things I least feel like doing first. It’s what people tell you, or what common sense dictates, but there’s always some form of inertia with things. Sent out some job applications, so I’m going to be alternating these on a day to day basis, between job apps and the self employment thing. Start fresh, maybe I should stick to the 730am alarm clock time I’ve set. My body is most alert after six and the half hours, so ideally, I should be clocking in at 1am each night to bed.

The fuzzy routine is now coming to my mind. Get up, shower, bring Alfie out for a walk to get the blood flowing. Come back have coffee, and start with the hard parts first. I like reading news first thing in the morning, but maybe I should do those after the grunt work has been done. Then the rest of the day can be to do whatever that needs to be done around the house.

I need to put these things down on paper, as things are usually vaguely in my mind until you clarify the steps. Heh, been troubleshooting my PC over the last few days and it’s already Friday and I can wrap up a week now.
